The "Garaj Mahal Players" and our pet fox Winston
Yes…In Garaj Mahal we have a pet domesticated fox. His name is Winston and is pictured above with Benny.
So… I am still trying to figure out exactly how to keep the blog going in some sort of fashionable way while chilling in Baltimore for the next few months. I guess I am going to just write. My goals are to write a lot. However, I want to keep the posting shorter and more frequent. I have decided to work less as a caddy and more as someone trying to travel the world for the next 5 or so years. I think the best way to start is to introduce the characters in our world of ridiculousness.
So, um, here goes (I may be repeating some descriptions here from previous posts) …
I live in Garaj Mahal with four other people. Contrary to popular belief, in the above picture I am not naked. However, I am extremely serious.

Benny Vears (aka the BV show)
Benny and I met in Argentina in January and traveled together through Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. He used to be in the Special Forces of the Australian Navy. He is a freak about going to the gym and has a tendency to take very gay pictures. See above picture with Winston also please walk with me through a memory lane of Gay Benny pictures.
The gayest of all gay pics while still in the Australian Navy. Please carefully notice both the flexing and the shorts.
Sidenote: As previously mentioned, I am a big fan of the adjective “gay”, but do not mean to offend anyone that could actually be gay. I have a lot of gay friends and love all of you.

Wayne
Wayne- Wayne owns Garaj Mahal and dabbles in real estate in Federal Hill where we live. Furthermore, Wayne also likes to hunt. To make things even more clear, He loves to hunt more than anyone I have ever met before. I have never been on a hunt but like the idea of shooting both deer and Canadian geese as both are a nuisance to our society. Wayne lives in the county and uses Garaj Mahal as his office. So far, he seems to be thorougly amused by his new tenants.
Sidenote: We just found a copy of a DVD laying on Waynes desk called “Extreme Whitetails 3″. This is not a porn movie as you might expect but a movie about amazing whitetail hunts.

Phil
Phil- Phil is about 55 years old and used to be in a major rock band back in 1975. Phil was the lead singer of Tower. Currently, he is the caretaker of Garaj Mahal. Phil told us about how back in the day he used to make “Crazy Tapes”. If all goes as planned Phil will be appearing on the blog with new revamped crazy tapes. Phil also makes an amazing drink called “peacocks delight” that he claims the ladies will love. No one has had the balls to sit in Phils chair. Currently as I type this, Phil is watching Alfred Hitchcocks “the Birds”.
Sidenote: I have seen “the Birds” once and am still terrified by the movie. The idea of Birds pecking out peoples eyes does not sit well with me.
——————————————————————————-
Dave Binck- Dave and I went to college together at the University of Maryland. Since then he has been bouncing around the country. He is on his way to the city of Angels and is stopping over in Baltimore for a few months to chill out after a near death experience a few months back. The above pic is a bit disturbing. However, how would we be able to get by without the stuffed beaver that lives in our closet?
——————————————————————————
Benny, Dave, and I are sharing a room. Yes, you heard it correctly. It is a ridiculous living situation. We also all caddy together. Therefore, I have been spending about 20 hours a day with these two lunatics. Thank god Phil is around to keep things sane in Garaj Mahal.
Below are some pictures to give you a better idea of our living arrangements:
The lounge area at the back of Garaj Mahal. Muchos Gracias to mi amigos Steve and Wendy for the sweet leather couches.
At what point in life is it not proper to share a room with two other guys???? Probably a very long time ago for us but you cannot beat what we are paying in rent. Plus, Benny and I have been sharing a room with up to 12 people since January so this is not that big a deal. I hope I am doing a good job justifying the ridiculousness of this entire situation.
Garaj Mahal would not be accurately described without talking about our wall of antlers. Did I mention that Wayne likes to hunt?

Notes:
>Last night we tried to give Winston a bath. It was impossible. He is very quick and bites a bit. However, he is starting to smell and we had to give it a try.
>In the lounge area of Garaj Mahal we have a psuedo war room featuring maps of the USA and of the world. Dave and I are currently mapping out our US trip which should start around mid November.
>Currently, it looks like I am pushing back Africa until after the New Years. I left for South America on January 9th of 2007. I am feeling like it could be a great date for my Africa launch date as well.
> Our friends Daddio and Tazzy are pictured above with Winston our fox. They are Garaj Mahal residents without residency. They pretty much live here. Not pictured: My sister Debbie who also lives here.

Dave, good post! I’m still trying to believe that’s a real fox.
(I’m talking about BV.)
LOL. He is cute. But then again, who isn’t in this whole story?
Seriously, that’s a cool red fox if it’s real (unstuffed, considering who you rent from). My “Fox” is mostly dog breed :)

Keep up the good work!
I’m pretty pumped to have finally made the blog.
Peacocks Delight is quite delightful, thanks Phill! Steph & I knocked out three hours of housework yesterday- just like you said!
My little sister will be prominently featured in the blog. No worries…
Also, rikki…be assured of this, that was a very real fox and he can be ferocious when he gets in one of his moods.
OK you got me. Somehow I missed the first “Garaj Mahal” post and the whole Fox issue. With my head low I now walk a few steps to the kitchen to fix me-self some early morning coffee. And I don’t drink coffee. Nevertheless, lets just pretend this whole thing never happened.
***UPDATE*** 10 mins later
Now I’m really confused. I had to re-read everything and look at Winston pictures twice. I still do not know whether he is real or not (there, I dropped the bomb!) - in defiance of Dave’s assurance. I guess, I should change my vote and find out more about that fox.
