Underground NYC: The Central Park Roller Skate Dancers
My array of friends that work for Bike the Big Apple, a New York City bicycle tour company told me about a group of people that “roller skate dance” every Saturday and Sunday in Central Park. Without much to go on, Francis (my editor), Matt (my cameraman/producer), and I strolled up to Central Park on a nice Sunday afternoon to see if we could find out more about the scene. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
We would like to give much thanks to the people involved with “The Central Park Roller Skate Dancers”. They were incredibly forthcoming, helpful and overall excited to have us be a part of their experience for the day.
If you find yourself up in New York City on the weekend. Take your skates to the park and get lost in the world of roller skate dancing. They should call it “skancing”–or maybe not : )

Peace out,

P.S. I am heading out into the deserts of northern Nevada for a little festival called “Burning Man” for 8 days. I should have many pictures upon my return. I am highly looking forward to 8 days with no iPhone or iMac or anything else.
