6 Months in 6 minutes

After blogging for almost two years straight–it has become fairly obvious that I have become a enormous slacker in the last 6 months. There are many reasons for this. But, excuses are not my forte.

Here is a quick synopsys of what has happened in the last 6 months:

July 2008- Sweat quite a bit and discovered that New York City is beyond gross in the summer months complete with a terrible stench.

August 2008- Saw Radiohead play twice: New York and San Fran.  Traveled to San Francisco. Spent some time in L.A.

8 Days at Burning Man- Had one of the best trips to date. Decided to quit my job at “For Your Imagination” and start my own business in the Web Video world

September 2008- Quit my job at For Your Imagination, started “Dave Ford Enterprises”, a Branded Entertainment Advertising Agency with partner Mike Cerrone

October 10, 2008- After much thought, decided to change the name of the company to “Branded Evolution”. Started working as hard as I have ever worked in my entire life to get this business off of the ground.

October 20, 2008- Became addicted to the social networking tool Twitter. You can follow me here

November 2008- Began to see the structure of the business take shape. Have some deals in the works. We decide to bring on John Brennan as CTO. Also we throw up a splash page for the business while we work on the website.

November 5 2008- Barack Obama wins the election. Mass celebration occurs in New York City and the world for that matter. Pots and pans are repeatedly banged on our street for hours after the election.

Last Weekend- Went to a mediation retreat in upstate New York. Meditated for 15 hours over the course of the weekend. I am slowly moving closer to my lifelong goal to bend spoons with my mind.

Right this very second- Working in my favorite coffee shop in Brooklyn–South Side Coffee shop. This small, hipster run shop is three blocks from my house and has quite amazing wi-fi capabilities. Also, great tea.

In conclusion: I do not for the life of me want to lose the slight writing chops that I have developed over the past few years while traveling.   So, damn it, I am going to get this thing back up and running. Alas, there is not much travel in my immediate future. My goal in life is to get this business up and running. But, its great to have a place to empty my head. This shall be the new use of Dave Ford Does Earth– until I set back off again into the world in a few years : )
