About Dave Ford
I am addicted to travel. My favorite country is Bolivia. I grew up in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. I enjoy beer. I also enjoy Jamesons. I also enjoy a nice glass of scotch. I am friends with a Shaman. I am single and am oh-so-very happy about it. I have a habit of knocking over things. Once, I jumped in freezing cold water in Antarctic in a tiny Brazilian bikini. I think that EVERYONE should travel for an extended period of time–for at least 3 months. Bob Dylan and Oprah Winfrey are both inspirations to me. My grammar is improving but I am still paying the price for not paying attention in the 11th grade. I love to write. I currently call New York City my home. I used to have an Afro. I deeply miss it. I have a passion for trekking. I was the editor of my high school yearbook. I used to work for 98 Rock in Baltimore. I am starting an exotic travel company. I have at times become obsessed with this blog. I am extremely spiritual and extremely non-religious. I climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro on my 30th birthday. I have been accused of having a big ego by at least 3 people but they were wrong. I used to drink 5 cups of coffee a day but I quit cold turkey. My parents have been married for at least 35 years–maybe more. I am addicted to acupuncture. I have been told multiple times that I am “losing touch with reality”. I have been able to palm a basketball since the 6th grade. I love to play golf. I ate guinea pig once in Peru and it tasted like rabbit. I have been accused of being a hippie–mostly because of my musical taste and lifestyle. There is no doubt about it, I bath frequently. On the lost city trek–Ciudad Perdida– in Colombia I was stung by a scorpion and my entire upper thigh radiated pain for 24 hours. I illegally went to Cuba for a week. If you work for the FBI then please realize that last statement was a bold-faced lie. My roommate in New York reads poetry with live bands. I was in the United States Air National Guard for 6 years. Yeah, I know, I can not believe it either. I love underground hip hop. I used to manage rock and roll bands. I used to work for DC101 in Washington D.C. I am politically charged but realize that talking about my opinions simply ruins good times. I want to smash my old blackberry into a million pieces. Math does not thrill me but Travel does. I ski not snowboard. I have been known to freestyle after a few beers. I believe you should receive a fabulous prize if you read all the way to this point.
