NYC Sublet Hop 2011

Blogs read backwards. This archive provides an outlet to read all the posts from the beginning of the Sublet hop  onwards if you so desired….

Overview:

After living in New York City for over 3 years–I decided to start traveling again–but this time on a local level by sublet hopping from neighborhood to neighborhood.

First Hop: Clinton Hill-  Jan-Feb 2011

My first stop on the sublet hop was in Brooklyn, in a neighborhood adjacent to Fort Greene called Clinton Hill (until I moved there, I hadn’t even heard of Clinton Hill). I subletted a small one bedroom from Gisela, an artist and sculptor that was on an drawing retreat in New England. The place was in the heart of Clinton Hill, right off of Myrtle Avenue.

Second Hop: Atlantic/Pacific (in the Middle of Prospect Park, Boerum Hill, Gowanus, and Prospect Heights)

The second hop is in the middle of 4 different neighborhoods, in an up and coming part of town near the Atlantic Pacific Subway Stop. I subletted from a woman named Lily–who just so happens to be a prolific Burner Man person. The place is tiny–but has a ridiculously huge roof which overlooks the Williamsburg Bank and Trust.
